The date for the postponed Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR) 2014 Examination Science 018 (SK), 028 (SJKCs), 038 (SJKT) and English 014/1 014/2 supposedly scheduled on last 11 September 2014 due to the leakage in the internet will be set to be held at a new date; September 30, 2014.
This was announced by Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education (Teaching Professionalism Development) Datuk Misrah Ibrahim during a press conference held at Putrajaya this morning.
"The Board of Examination (LP), after receiving several reports regarding the leak in the internet on the UPSR Science and English had made that decision."
"The date September 30, 2014 is the date most suitable to enable the LP to prepare logistic issues (printing and distribution) and technical, including security and integrity questions," he said adding that this process, involving 473.175 candidates, 51,438 staff, 8,299 centers, and 382 safe vaults across the country.
With this latest development, the Ministry of Education (MOE) will make an internal investigation of all allegations of leakage of examination papers."
Stressing that MOE is taking the leakage UPSR papers very seriously, he assured that they will take decisive action to make sure that similar incident such as this would not happen again.
"MOE will collaborate with the authorities (Police, MCMC) to identify those responsible and bring them to justice, including the possibility of criminal charges in court against those found guilty," said Misrah adding that MOE hopes decisive action and maximum punishment will be imposed on such traitors.
Disclosing that a police report regarding the matter was made, Misrah said that MOE also hope for a swift investigation will be conducted to identify the traitor, regardless who ever he is to face the consequences.
"In addition to paper and 014/2 014/1 English and Science 018, 028 and 038, as mentioned above, no cancellation for any other UPSR's paper so far."

"MOE will also set up an independent committee to review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), operation and management of public examinations comprising of experts from various fields including information technology, security and logistics," he said addingt that MOE also apologize to those who suffer any inconvenience due to this incident. -Sarawakiana
