The remains of Allahyarham Muhammad Afruz Tambi, 13, the last member of Allahyarham Tambi Jiee’s family who perished in the MH17 tragedy will be flown back to Malaysia this Friday.
According to a press statement by Minister of Transport Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, this Friday, October 3, 2014, marks the sixth arrival of remains being returned to their loved ones. Arriving at 8.30am at the Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), these remains will be accorded full military honours.
The remains of Allahyarham Muhammad Afruz will be arriving home along with the remains of Liew Yaw Chee, Lee Kiah Yeen, Meling Anak Mula and young Mathew Ezekial Sivagnanam.
With this arrival, a total of 42 Malaysians, who perished on board MH17 had been returned to their next of kin. At present, 27 passengers and 15 crew members had been identified from the total of Malaysians on board the flight.
As the next of kin lay their loved ones to rest, let us all pray that they may find the strength and courage to face this tragic loss. I would also like for everyone to respect the privacy of the families of the MH17 passengers throughout this difficult time.
