Facebook suffered a brief international outage early Thursday, leaving millions of users with an error message.
"We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can," a statement on the social networking site said.
Users in the United Kingdom, Israel and India were among those affected.
Facebook said in an email to NBC News that it was aware of "the problem" but did not elaborate how what caused the outage or how many users were affected.
In under an hour, the social networking site started to come back online for some users.
Facebook claims nearly 1.28 billion users across the world. It counts more than 80 percent of its users outside the U.S. and Canada.
