MotoGP Riders Salaries & New Contracts In 2015


Marc Marquez won his second consecutive MotoGP title and in the process he got a big contract to stay with his current team Repsol Honda, but going into the 2015 motoGP season its Valentino Rossi who earns the most salary plus the endorsement deals which rack him around $15 to $20 million a year combined. Valentino Rossi is the only rider from the MotoGP who featured consistantly in Forbes top 100 highest paid athletes around the world, back in 2007 he earned around $35million a year in salary and endorsement combined.

  1. Jorge Lorenzo recently signed a new 2 year contract with Yamaha to keep him at the team, appernetly Yamaha were reluctant to hand him the same yearly salary like the previous contract and negotiations were stalled for a while but in the end they managed to sign him for another two years.
  2. Valentino Rossi also signed a deal with Yamaha which is a two year deal and he got a pay cut where he will be earning $10 million a salary compared to his last contract with the team which got him $12 million.
  3. Marc Marquez won his second title in 2014 and he signed a 2 year deal with Repsol Honda and got a massive hike in the salary where he will be earning $10 million a year which is more than double his previous salary with the team.
  4. Danny Pedrosa also signed another 2 year deal with Repsol Honda where he will be earning around $3.5 to $4 million a year.
