State govt introduces three new cabinet committees



KUCHING: The state government has created three cabinet committees which will be headed by the three Deputy Chief Ministers to oversee each of its respective transformation plans.

The cabinet committees are: Socio Economic Transformation which will be spearheaded by Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Rural Transformation (Datuk Amar Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing) and Performance and Service Delivery Transformation (Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg).

Making the announcement was Abang Johari, who revealed that the objectives and roles of the cabinet committees were to identify respective Key Result Areas (KRA).

“The committees will also be recommending improvements, solutions and interventions that can bring immediate term, medium term and long term growth, development, progress and harmony to the state,” said Abang Johari after chairing a meeting for the Performance and Service Delivery Transformation committee at Pullman Hotel today (Aug 29).

He also said the committees will meet once a month on a ‘lab retreat’ basis to be briefed by each of the Working Committee (secretariat) on existing dates, projects and programmes, including problem and issues on their relevant areas.-BP
