The State Farmers' Organization Sarawak welcome the budget allocation of RM100 million for Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (NAFAS) as a matching grant to invest in Dana Peladang Kebangsaan (DPK).
Assistant Minister of Agriculture (Pertubuhan Peladang) and also NAFAS Chairman Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran said that this augurs well for the Farmers' Organization both at National and State levels.
According a press statement regarding the matter that was released earlier today, there are 161,000 member farmers who will benefit from this allocation in Sarawak.
"I urge those farmers who have not joined the Area Farmers' Organization (AFO) are encourage to join the AFO."
"The member farmers who invests in DPK will get a guaranteed dividenedof ten percent every year and they are encouraged to invest in DPK," said Selvester.
NAFAS has pledged a sum of RM2.5 million to invest in DPK. Out of this, the sum of RM437,500.00 has been approved by Wakil Pendaftar, Pertubuhan Peladang Sarawak. - Sarawakiana
