English Will Be The Official Language Of Sarawak State Government??

Sarawak will become the first state to use English as the medium of a government official.

Chief Minister of Sarawak Tan Sri Adenan Satem said, government agencies will also be given the option to use Bahasa Malaysia in addition to English in official documents.

“My strong on English has irritated some of the so-called nationalist who have accused me of being anti-nationalistic and anti-patriotic. Advocating English has nothing to do with nationalism and patriotism. For me, it just being realistic,”

He said at the launch of the Sarawak Civil Service Day 2015 at the Borneo Convention Centre today.

According to him, more that 1000 doctors in Malaysia who had completed their studies gave up their medical career because of poor command of English.

“This is very sad while 45,000 graduates in Malaysia being unemployed because their cannot find proper jobs due to their inability to speak and write decent English. I am just being realistic here,”
