IPOH: A woman died on the spot after the multipurpose vehicle she was travelling in rammed into the back of a trailer at KM367 of the North South Expressway in Bidor.
Also injured in the 2am on Wednesday incident, which killed 35-year-old Wan Markiyah Wan Hamid, were a man and five children travelling in the same vehicle with her.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said passers-by had rushed the injured to the Slim River Hospital before rescuers arrived.
“We had to extricate the body from the wreckage.
“The woman’s remains were later handed over to the police,” he said.
Both vehicles were travelling on the southbound lane of the expressway at the time of the incident. - The Star
